The Cantina Cantarini is an osteria with a long tradition behind it. This Roman trattoria has existed since 1903: opened by its founder, Mariano Cantarini, since 1925 it has been managed by his son Raffaele with the same enthusiasm that has always characterised the osteria, a place where once upon a time Romans were served appetising panini, accompanied by wine, beer and other drinks.
When customers started bringing raw foods to be cooked directly in the osteria, the kitchen began to take on a key role within the restaurant.
In 1943, at 8 years of age, Mario Fattori started working in the osteria, beginning as a simple waiter to become, in 1980, the current owner.
The Roman trattoria is renowned not only for the quality of its home-cooked cuisine, but also for its warm and welcoming atmosphere: the interior and tables are simple but at the same time warm and welcoming.
